Includes schools staff. Senior officers listed separately are not in these counts. From the accounts: Note 8a: 'The number of employees whose remuneration during the year was £50,000 or more, in bands of £5,000, is shown here, excluding those that are senior employees (see note 8b).' Two side-by-side tables are printed: including termination payments (used here; totals 4,126 in 2025/26, 3,529 in 2024/25) and excluding termination payments (totals 4,101 and 3,385). Split into Schools and Other; counts are the Total column. In two rows (£125,000-£129,999 and £135,000-£139,999, 2025/26) the printed Total differs from Schools plus Other; the printed Total is used. The council says the current-year figures are affected by a timing difference because the taxable value of expenses is not available until after the draft accounts are produced.

What this data does and doesn't show
- Every figure is as Hampshire County Council printed it, in accounts that have not yet been audited. Counts in the £100,000 figure are our sum of the council's bands.
- Comparisons are with the other county councils read so far; no national figure is published for England.
- Accounts figures for members' allowances are read from bar-chart labels in Note 9 (no table is printed). The council's allowances page directs readers to individual councillor pages on democracy.hants.gov.uk; no single annual total publication was found. The IRP public notice sets the 2022/23-2025/26 scheme with Basic Allowances adjusted annually in line with the pay award for Senior Managers at Grade H but does not state the 2025/26 amount; the amount was not found in a council document within the time available.
