What this data does and doesn't show

  • Every figure is as Liverpool printed it, in accounts that have not yet been audited. Counts in the £100,000 figure are our sum of the council's bands.
  • Comparisons are with the other metropolitan borough councils read so far; no national figure is published for England.
  • Published 2025/26 list (85 councillors) prints no totals; figures are our sums of its columns: Travel 281.29, Basic 1,152,937.93, Special Responsibility 393,924.56, Licensing Allowance (£100 per meeting) 19,300.00, Carers 0, Child Care 0. 'expenses' is Travel plus Carers plus Child Care; 'total' includes the Licensing Allowance. These sums differ from the accounts note (Basic £1,180k, SRA £405k), which the council does not reconcile. A separate list covers the Transport Committee. Basic rate is the full-year Basic figure (13,932.00) shown for councillors in the 2025/26 list; the scheme document itself was not checked.
