UK petrol averaged 140.2p a litre in March 2026, of which 76.3p was tax (54%) and 47.1p was crude oil. The price rose from 132.1p in the week to 2 March 2026 to 148.8p in the week to 30 March 2026.

Brent averaged $100 a barrel over the month and the pound bought $1.333. Fuel duty was 52.95p a litre throughout. The refining and retail margin averaged 16.8p.
