UK petrol averaged 156.9p a litre in April 2026, of which 79.1p was tax (50%) and 54.8p was crude oil. The price rose from 154.7p in the week to 6 April 2026 to 157.0p in the week to 27 April 2026.

Brent averaged $117 a barrel over the month and the pound bought $1.344. Fuel duty was 52.95p a litre throughout. The refining and retail margin averaged 23.0p.
