UK petrol averaged 152.2p a litre in July 2026, of which 78.3p was tax (51%) and 38.8p was crude oil. The price rose from 149.8p in the week to 6 July 2026 to 156.1p in the week to 27 July 2026.

Brent averaged $82 a barrel over the month and the pound bought $1.337. Fuel duty was 52.95p a litre throughout. The refining and retail margin averaged 35.1p.
